WARNING ABOUT LABOR AUDITS

Federal and State labor audits have increased. We are seeing an uptick in labor board audits.

The federal and state labor audits are looking for the following:

  • Are you paying minimum wage?
  • Are you paying the proper amount for overtime?
  • Do you have undocumented workers?
  • Are you pooling tips and if so, are you illegally including managers or owners?

It is important that you inform Kallas as soon as you are notified of a Labor Board Audit. 

We need time to assemble payroll records and discuss with you how to respond if you have exposure.
